Back to School

Tonight was my biggest class ever with over 17 ladies either participating in the class or getting the kits! I'm so excited to see how this class has grown and also, how we just have become so close and we are all saddened that one of our "Scrappers" is headed back to Florida and we are going to miss her, cos she has been so much fun and we've enjoyed having her in our classes...at least her daughter is going to remain in our group....if you ever want to join us, just email me at dimahi@hotmail.com, or if you'd like a kit to any of these classes, just let me know...usually the girls use their own pattern paper and cardstock and I provide the pattern and all cutouts.
Tonights class went really well and we got done almost an hour quicker than we normally do, but somehow I still didn't get home till 9:30'ish...just that chatter we have at the end.
If you enjoy seeing these pages, please be sure to leave a comment. We have had some younger scrappers join us the last few weeks and we have totally enjoyed them. Here is this weeks layout.

If you own a Cricut, here is an excellent software that allows you to cut
any True Type font with your machine, as well as many cliparts can now be
traced within the program turning them into an svg format, this feature alone
makes getting SCAL2 worth it as you will never need to purchase any carts.
There are thousands of files out there for you to download for free or for a
small fee that you can cut with your Cricut. I must say I use this software for
almost every layout I have done when using my Cricut. I actually use it more
than cartridges....don't tell Provo :)

Another Mosaic layout

Here is my layout for our August 17th scrapbooking class, which is another Mosaic layout...I am really enjoying doing these layouts, it's using the mind and math to make everything come together. I hope you like this layout. The pictures used on my layout were from our trip to Hawaii in 2007...our son Sam was granted a Make a Wish, and it was a dream come true. We had the time of our lives there. The weather was beautiful every day we were there. As you can see in the pictures, the sky and the water was the prettiest blue. We enjoyed our stay there and we thank Make a Wish for making this possible and giving us a memory that we will never forget.

Spring layout

Here is a layout we did quite sometime ago, and it was a bugger to do...the pattern that we used, the sizes were listed wrong and so our layouts never turned out like the sketch we were trying to do...but this lady went home and she wanted to make that layout sketch and so she kept at it untile she got it pretty darn close...I love the layout and I hope you do to.

Christmas in July Scrapmania

Once again SCRAPS held another Scrapmania weekend where we scrapped way into the night...midnight to be exact and then all day Saturday. At Scrapmania some of the ladies were very well prepared and were able to do as many as 10 layouts with photos in place as well as some journaling! I was impressed with how organized they were. There were door prizes drawn throughout the event, and there was a Scrap yard sale as well as a demonstrator from one of the companies selling stamps, paper etc. It was a wonderful weekend filled with Scrapping, friends and great food...oh yeah, I forgot to mention the food...these ladies not only do totally awesome pages, but they also cook some unbelievably delectable, scrumptious food...I certainly blew my diet.

Also available at Scrapmania, were some classes could be taken, here is a class that I had taught last year with a request for it to be taught at Scrapmania...I don't know what happened, but this class took over 2 hours to do and it should've been less than an hour...but as usual, the ladies created their own layouts by embossing the snowman with the Cuttlebug embossing folders, also heat embossing, and glitter glue was used, and it isn't in the picture, but one of the girls layout is going to be the redneck snowman and is going to be holding a shotgun! I designed the gun for her in the new Surecutsalot 2, which I absolutely love this new program..it opens the door wide for all the things my Cricut can do now....Thank you Todd!!!!

Giggles N Grins

August 3rd scrapping class was a night of fun with 10 wonderful scrappers attending and as you can see, they took the layout idea and ran with it...each one adding their own little twist to their page making it just that "their page"

In this layout we used the Cricut and Surecutsalot 2. The title was cut with Basecamp, the tag with Plantin, and the pocket was cut with the newest version of SCAL2! I am totally loving that program...I needed a pocket and didn't have one in any of my files and so I made one using paint and then imported it into SCAL2 and did the trace and some little adjustments and voila! I think it just added to our page.
