Pictures with Santa

Here is a very cute layout I found online and I incorporated some of my own touches…some chalking, some glitter and some bling!!! I hope you like it. I think the site was Michigan Scrapbooking. If you would like to make this site, you can let me know what names you would like me to use with my Make the Cut software using the new Print and Cut technique, I will add your children’s and or pets names to the Santa list, also I used Make the Cut program to do the Santa will be back at 1 stop sign! I love this program and I will be happy to help any of you learn how to use this wonderful software…It is awesome to use with our Cricuts or whatever die cutting machine that you may have. Make the Cut works on many of these die cutting machines. So here’s the layout:

IMG_5141

Not sure why but the colors are way off on this picture, the sleigh is fire engine red, and on the mats, the corners are a deep almost burgandy red. The trees are Christmas green and a shade lighter green in the middle. I added some glitter to the trees, the list on the sleigh include my children’s names and our pets!

Recipe: (4) 3 3/4 x 6 photo mats

The snow is a 2 1/2 x 12 inch strip that I put the pieces back to back and then cut my hills and valleys. The papers used are glitter papers that you can purchase at our local scrapbooking store SCRAPS!

IMG_5140

See how neat the stop sign, it was printed first and then using the Make the Cut sofware, I placed the paper on my mat, lining it up with the virtual mat that was on my screen, and presto, hit cut and you see it…perfectly cut stop sign with printing on it….did I say I love this program????

Make the Cut 3.20 update

Some of the improvements in the Make the Cut

Faster cutting speed on the Cricut
New Cutter plug-ins
The option to rotate the virtual mat
Place objects on a path automatically
New Basic Shapes added
Tiler for cutting larger projects
SVG import with layers
Rhinestone count
Cut Inside shapes first
Duplicate multiple layers
and more!

So if you haven’t purchased Make the Cut , first click on this link or on the box for Make the Cut  on the sidebar, and then after you download it click on the link here to do your update. You will want to purchase it first and then do the update. I really like the new features, but one of my favorites that I have asked for when I first got the program last year, was to be able to have the option to design in Portrait mode so that I can cut from the top of my mat down…just like our printers, making it easier for my mind to set things up…I think you will like this new feature:

http://www.make-the-cut.com/setup/MTCInstall3.2.0.exe

Another option that is an update from 2.32 is the option to create lattice and rhinestones…this is such a neat feature in many ways…the rhinestones can also be used to create scallops and I like it for using my pen and then using skittles or viva pens to add a little glitz to my cards or layouts. So be sure to get your version of Make the Cut while it’s still on sale for $58.36, the price will be going back to $79 sometime in the near future, so this is a super savings, just thing the price of one cartridge!

Snow Fun Layout

Here is another layout that I again Scraplifted…sorry for doing this, but I have been really busy lately, and so it has been easier to try and get some simpler layouts done so I can get them into my albums…but I’m sure you will like them for their simplicity, they are still very nice. Enjoy!

100_6568

This paper I got at SCRAPS in Houlton, it is a soft blue with little white glittered polka dots…sorry forgot to get the name of the paper, but it looks like little snowballs falling…thought it was cute…I then used some Christmas silver ribbon for my mats. Again all pieces were cut with my Cricut using Make the Cut software, and I must say the snowflakes cut out so nice and smooth! I love that software.

Here is another option with the layout, I used a snowflake paper and again, oops I forgot to mention that my mats were stamped with the snowflacke roller stamp from Stampin Up.

Vinyl

Hey everyone…are you all done shopping yet? We are almost done, I just have to get my baby girls presents, and hubby’s and then finished…I am working on a few projects for the mom’s I babysit for, and some friends…maybe even you…so I can’t post them yet, but hopefully after Christmas, I can post some pictures of my homemade gifts.

Here is an idea that someone shared in the Make the Cut gallery and I loved her idea, and she even shared the file, so all I had to do was modify for my Christmas gift…my oldest girl is a teacher in China and her special treat to herself is a trip to the nearest Starbucks, so I thought, she’s always collecting their cups, but this is one she can’t buy from them :) Please leave me a comment and let me know how you like this. I used car vinyl on her cup and as long as she hand washes it, it should last for a very long time! Enjoy!

Cocoa Cozy Layout

Here is another layout that I did a couple of weeks ago, I can’t remember the name of the site I got it from, I think I posted it in a previous post, so you can look back there and see where I got it, she has some really cute and easy to put together layouts. On this layout, used part of a file from http://treasureboxdesigns.com/  (the chocolate sticks)and some I just used my favorite software MTC to create..…the mug and snowflakes, and the whipped cream. I don’t thing the picture does it justice as far as being able to see the details in the cuts with inking or chalking the pieces. This would be an adorable layout to add pictures of your kids sitting watching their favorite Christmas movie or when they’ve come in from the cold with red noses and cheeks and sipping some hot chocolate. Enjoy!

Believe Layout

Here is another layout that I found online and of course, I did a little of my own touches to it….In my opinion, I think it is a very attractive, soft layout, yet with that said, it is also very “Christmassy” I hope you like this layout…I made all of the pieces in my favorite software Make the Cut. I want to be sure to give her credit…I think her name is Outnlimb..and I have done a few of her layouts these last couple of weeks because they are quick and easy to do…of course I make my own files to cut, I just use her picture for the ideas of the layout.

IMG_5047

IMG_5048  Make the Cut is just about to make their new improved update and you are going to absolutely love the new features…they are adding lattice, and rhinestone, for all you cardmakers this is an absolute awesome feature, it’s great for us scrapbookers as well…There is also going to be add text or object warping to another object…this is such a neat addition as well, a wonderful addition to us who do vinyl decor. Another added feature to be added is to be able to set our mats into the Cricut and our paper being set as portrait! I have asked for this feature for quite sometime and I know it was a little bit of tweaking for Andy to do and he wasn’t a big fan of adding this feature, but there were many of us who liked this and we thank you Andy for adding it. There are a few more features coming that I will share with you as soon as the updates come out. If you haven’t gotten this software yet, you may want to get it soon while it is still on sale. I can’t believe how long they have left it at this low, low price but even if the price does go up, it is an awesome program to have and use with your Cricut or whatever cutter you maybe using.

Don’t forget to also check out Lettering Delights as they have started adding svg files and they have 2 free files for you just to try. I love it…I was a little confused at first, but when you bring the file into MTC you just spit the pieced, then go to your layer box, click on the box that it is in, and right click and send each piece to their own layer, and voila!!!! you are all set to set your colors and cut. Enjoy!

So hurry on over to LETTERING DELIGHTS  and get your free files, and try them with your Printer and your Cricut…if you need help with your print and cut, check out the video tutorial on this blogsite. Most important is to do a test cut with your Printer to see if it lines up, then carefully line your paper up on your mat and cut…if you find you are off too much, try doing a sample cut on copy paper and you can see how to adjust your paper on your mat from the sample. Make the Cut and LETTERING DELIGHTS are my two favorite programs to use in my scrapbooking now. Enjoy

Make The Cut Beta 3.0 Update

Make The Cut Beta 3.0 Update

Make The Cut has a new Beta update (click HERE) that allows you to cut printed images. I've not played with it myself but I did find this video over on You Tube that shows it in action. Pretty cool I'd say! Click HERE for more information on Make The Cut  and HERE to watch the video.

If you want to wait till after December 1st, the full released version will be out. I am loving the new features that have been added to the Beta version and I understand there will be some great new features added to the full release. I for one can’t wait! If you are even on the fence about getting this software, I wouldn’t wait too long, because the price is the lowest it is going to be and I’m sure this price won’t last too long. It is so worth it!

Lettering Delights

Well I just wanted to share a new website that I’ve come across and I am absolutely loving it…this site is awesome for getting backgrounds, textures, card templates, graphics, printables etc. You are going to want to check this site out. Many people have been going here with the new update on Make the Cut and the print and cut options, this company has a lot to offer. Their prices are very reasonable and they have so many graphics, fonts, cliparts to choose from. So be sure to keep checking back with them as they keep adding new downloads. I have been using their backgrounds for my scrapbooking pages, they print beautifully! I will be adding another tutorial on how I bring their backgrounds into Make the Cut and get a full 12 x 12 background (no white borders).
I am so excited, that my head is just spinning thinking of all the possibilities now available to us with the update to Make the Cut and this new website that others have shared with me…a huge thank you to Jin, who has been using their files and shared how she does her print and cut with Make the Cut. So check this site out, click on the link below.

Give Thanks Layout

Hi Everyone, so I was online a few weeks ago, and I came across this site that had the most adorable layouts…and so I just had to make them. She totally allows others to scraplift her ideas, so that is so cool, she just doesn’t want us to sell them as ours…so I like her layouts and then of course as we all do, I modify them to go with my way of scrapbooking. I can’t remember her site, her name is Kate or Katie…so thank you for sharing your site…and if I come across it, I will post it to share with all of you. In the meantime enjoy this layout.

100_6501 100_6503

Mat sizes on here are 4x6 and 4 1/4 x 6 1/4, Strips for one of the patterns is 4 1/2 and for the other is 6” and then for the cardstock it’s the same, one is 4 1/2 and the other is 6”

The picture doesn’t do it much justice, but the cornucopia, is 3 layers, it was done with the new print and cut technique using Make the Cut. I had a hard time getting them to line up so had to use my scissors to remove some pieces of white. I like how they came out…but I am hoping with a little more practice I can get a nice clean cut every time. I had to use, I think her name is Kaye’s hinge method to cut some of them as I was wasting a lot of paper. It seems that if you are doing one image, the print and cut technique works just fine, but more than one image, the cut shifts. Hopefully I can figure this out, because I cut so many pieces that I need to be able to have it work right every time :) or close to every time…no one likes to waste paper!

Here is the layout that we did at Scrapmania, I think it was another one of Katie’s ideas, with some of my own modifications to it.

100_6506 100_6507

I also used Make the Cut to cut my little Christmas bulbs and this picture doesn’t do it justice as the string is glittery crochet cotton, and I used some little flat beads that I purchased at Michaels and I colored them with my Copic markers. I believe the paper is Close to my Heart and Scenic Route. Even my font was made with the Make the Cut software…it resembles Storybook, don’t you think?

You can find them at http://treasureboxdesigns.com and http://preciouspiecings.com, they both have some awesome files and a great sale going on. If you are interested in the Make The Cut software, go to my site and click on the link at http://scrapitcmh.blogspot.com

Jammin’ in the Stand

So tonight we were small in numbers, but once again our layouts came out really nice. Each person chose the instrument that would represent their children or just to randomly choose an instrument and place it on their layout. I hope you enjoy it…and be sure to leave a comment..love to read how you like our layouts. I scrapped lifted this one, and of course modified it to go with the look I was looking for…grateful to those who share their ideas for us to recreate.

100_6484

The above layout is one of our regular young ladies and she does a great job…I keep forgetting, I think she’s only 10.
