Srap Mania Weekend

So this past weekend, I had the privilege to be a part of the Scrapbook Mania Weekend. We had about 17 to 20 ladies there working on different projects. We had some unbelievably good food. There was a class that was offered for a Winter themed accordion book. There were door prizes about every hour and grand prize was won by Rebecca...Congratulations!!!!
I think everyone there had a great time, I know I sure did. Here are a few pictures that I got to take when I wasn't busy cutting with my Cricut or working on my layouts or stuffing my face :) Thanks to Lisa and Bev and all those who helped to make it a great weekend.

Magnolia Night

So our Monday night class wanted to make cards! Woohoo! I love cards. I think making cards and having a card available for when that special birthday comes along, or someone needs a little cheering up, you can reach into your stash and send a handmade card, how much the receiver appreciates it. So here are some of the cards that we made that night. Again, everyone did their own idea and colors, and they came out beautiful!!!!
Here's Bev's

Here's Toni's:

Here's Riley's: Yup he came back...he's great and very talented.

February layout

Here is our February layout. Sorry late in posting..I had forgotten to take my camera to class, but here it is..came out really nice, I had several at the class, but unfortunately, I haven't gotten a chance to get a picture of their layouts. One decided not to do the calendar page, but use the layout to make a page called SISTERS and it was gorgeous. I love the creativity of this class as we come in with a design and everyone leaves with their own piece of artwork...or should I say page layout...but I call it art. :)

Die cut of my son thanks to Susan Uncle

Here is a diecut of our son, thanks to Susan, who spent several hours doing this just for me. I shed many tears as I saw this cut come to life. This is one of the last pictures taken of our son by his brother as they went kayaking for the first time when they went to a camp with their dad. Thanks to Susan I have a diecut that I cherish. I can't wait for the tutorial so I can make many more and help my fellow scrappers make theirs.

Click on the link below to get the Surecutsalot program that you can use with your Cricut. You can now cut any true type fonts, and just about any jpeg, bmp file, as well as cliparts and dingbats. Save this link and check it out. I love this program and use it on almost all my cuts. This is the program that was used to make this cut possible.

Twas the Night Before

I am so sorry for taking so long to post this layout that we did way back in January.
This definitely was a labor of love as we laid a wood floor with 1/4" pieces of inked paper, we made a window frame adding transparency sheet to the window to add to the effect of looking through glass. We used several Cricut cartridges, Christmas Cheer, Paper dolls, Scal for the rocking chair and kitty, we also used inking, chalking, brads. This is Bev's layout, and she did such a good job, when I get the others here, we will try to post them as well.

Magnolia Stamps Cardmaking Class at SCRAPS

Saturday I offered a cardmaking class at SCRAPS featuring one of my favorite stamps "Magnolia"

I had planned on 3 to 4 ladies attending, which I had 3, but I was totally unprepared when we had 6 teenage girls come in to make a card. Actually, only 4 of them stayed to make the card. They were so good, and patient with me, as I had to cut their cards and get more things ready for them, not to mention we had to share blending pens and waterbrushes.

We had a very good time and their cards came out so good...everyone used their own talents and ideas in the creation of their cards...yes, we had a model card to go by, but they made them truly their own. Truly they all were great "scraplifters" :)

One more card will be added as this cardmaker also did her card a little different and she wanted to add vellum to her card so we will post her card at a later time.

Please leave a comment on their cards so that we can encourage them to continue in this hobby we all love.

I had a great time teaching this class...great students...everyone followed directions and did such a wonderful job...someone is going to be very pleased when they receive these cards.
Thanks for looking.
