Tic Tac holders and Heshey snowman candy wrappers
I made these for the kids at church..nothing fancy, kept it simple..they will probably just rip them open and not really pay any attention to all the work..but I made most of it on my Cricut...so I was pretty pleased with how they came out.
Holiday Crafts
Here are some of my projects that I worked on for this year. Some were gifts and some were for the Holiday sale raising money for the scholarship fund. The shovel was for Sam's girlfriends parents. I had less than 3 hours to paint it so he could go to her house and get it wrapped. I had it all done, all it needed was the clear coat spray. I grabbed the can and went out to spray it, all of a sudden I screamed "Oh no!"...Sam came out and said "What's wrong"..I proceeded to tell him, that I had grabbed the wrong can, and that it was not clear coat but red paint!!!!! He couldn't believe it...we were running out of time..he said "can't you fix it?" Well I did what any mother would do, and did my best to repair the mistake I had made. So when he presented them the shovel, the white paint was more on the pinkish tone...oh well they liked it and enjoyed the story that went with it.
The lightbulbs have been a hit the last few years. Here are just a few of the ones I had left over..I sell these to raise money for the scholarship fund in our son's memory. I'm hoping to have some new ones next year.
Here is a Christmas clear bulb that I colored the inside with reds and greens and gold and then on the outside I tried an experiment of using embossing powder...came out pretty good, still have to work on this idea a little to keep it precise if making more than one for sale.
The Christmas Caroler
My good friend Brenda had purchased the Christmas Caroler "The Salvation Army" caroler and it had a sign with the kettle, but when she brought it home, she couldn't find the sign...so she knew I had a Cricut and thought that maybe I could make a replica of the sign so she could give it to I think her MIL. So here's what I came up with...I didn't have much time to get the correct sizes, but I think it came out pretty good.
Free Counter
Here is an update of our little kitty "Ilean" that we shared with all of you a few months ago. She is the precious little one that had lost her paw when she was born. As you can see, she is full of life and very mischievous as she climbs into our Christmas tree everyday..and pulls off the ornaments with her teeth and then pushes them all over the living room floor. She is a joy to have and also brings laughter into our home, what more can you ask for from this little one.
Snowman Card
Here is the little card that I made for my daughter who is in China. I used my Cricut and Christmas Cheer and George cart. It was very easy to put together using design studio, I just welded my circle together to make the round card and used my scorpal to make the perfect fold. She got her package on Christmas Eve Day...talk about cutting it close, but it just blessed my heart to know that she got our package to enjoy on Christmas.

Snowman Spoon Ornaments
These are spoons that I have been painting for over 3 to 4 years. My husband thought I had lost it when I started painting them, he thought I should be painting other things than "spoons". However, my first craft show, I had painted about 120 spoons and sold out in less than 2 hours, and so when I went home, my husband was speechless, he just shook his head. I painted 75 more that evening and sold all but 6 the next day. Since then I have now sold approximately 1000 spoons all over...some have gone to Germany, Switzerland, and even China, plus all over the US. I only do crafts once a year for the Thanksgiving weekend, and this is one of my most popular items, plus my handpainted lightbulbs. Which I will post later. All proceeds from these go to a scholarship in my son's memory.
Snowman Suitcases
Here are some of my suitcases that I have painted. These are great for storing leftover wrapping paper, scissors, tape, ribbon, tags, lights etc. If I get a chance I will also post my trunk that I painted. Oh I love this, I keep it out all year long. If I must say so myself, I did a really good job, especially if you could have seen it before. The inside of the trunk is in really good condition so it's been a nice piece of furniture that I have.
Baby word book
This was an experiment using my new deep cut blade. One thing that I definitely learned is that your mat needs to be very sticky. I tried a Pazzle material mat, and oh yeah that was super sticky, but not made for chipboard. So in case you don't know what happened...well let's put it this way, the Pazzle mats are so sticky, that I could not remove the chipboard from the mat, so I had to throw it all away.
Next I tried putting some ZigZag on my mat. I waited about 20 minutes to half hour and then placed my chipboard on it...it stuck really well, and it cut beautifully. So this is just a rough book, cause my ink didn't dry and smudged and I was experimenting also with the Bind it All...Dan has a wonderful tutorial on his site and that helped a lot in making my book.
2009 Desk Calendars
So I found this website that you can download calendars from and the money that you donate goes to support people suffering from Hodgkin's.
On my first calendar, I used little cliparts from my Cricut like snowflakes from Christmas Cheer, mittens, flowers, a turkey, even words, like Merry Christmas. My other calendars are going to have small pictures on them for my family for chrismas. The download also offers a page so you can keep track of your appointments, birthdays and other important dates. I like these calendars because they don't take up much space and at the same time they are very attractive.
Here's one that my friend Toni made, she is going to put pictures inside hers, and then mine follow.

snowman treat bags
So here are my snowman treat bags that I am making to help raise money for this years scholarship fund in memory of our son, Chris. I think I will do some editing to them because when I paint snowmen, I love doing the highlights and the other little touches on them. I also think I need a tag that says either Merry Christmas and or Happy Holidays. My son and I, we are going to surprise his girlfriends little sister with these and some cute little snowman wrapper candy bars for her birthday party...it will be fun making these with my son.
Jack Frost
Monday night we worked on this project. It is actually a very easy layout to create. Circles to create the snowman, torn or cut paper for the snow on the ground, and we used the cuttlebug dots for some of the mats to just add a little dimension. We also did some embossing on the snowflakes, and glitter on the letters and to make the ground glisten.
Hope you like this layout that we made.

My new favorite embellishment
So two weeks ago, I had to go to Portland to pick up our son who went out to IWU to visit his sister at college(Indiana Wesleyan University). I went a day early so I could visit with my brothers and also to go to Michaels and AC Moores. I was so excited because where I live, we do not have these wonderful craft stores where you want to stay for hours and just look at all the neat ideas and tools to make them with. So I bought a few things at each store...then I came home and started to play.
The next evening I was online and found this product called Flowersoft...I thought...hmmmm I should get some, it looks pretty neat. When it arrived, I thought it was different but really wasn't sure if I liked it...but then came the magic. I had to make a Christmas card really fast to be mailed in the morning and I had just purchased a Christmas tree stamp at our LSS "SCRAPS" (hi Bev, Lisa, love ya) and when I colored it, something was missing, it just didn't pop and I thought good time to try that new stuff I bought so I pulled it out, (mind you, it is 12:30 pm.) I put the glue down where I thought the Flowersoft should be and this is what happened to my card...I have to say...I loved it! Let me know what you think.

Tag it
Tonights pages were to create a layout and implement tags to it...I must say Gloria added the most tags on her layout. For me it was a challenge and I still haven't completed mine yet, but both Toni and Gloria finished there that evening...Gloria was able to add pictures to hers and Toni will add them later and we will retake pics to show you hers with the pictures. The colors that the girls chose were quite unique...Toni's layout is soft and Gloria's layout is fun, which is just what her pictures say, the ladies had a good time and so why not make the layout evolve around having fun.

12 Minute Layout
This week we did a double layout that took only 12 minutes to put together. Yup, you read right, only 12 minutes to create the spread, then you can do whatever you want to embellish your layout. So here is one of the layouts that Toni finished. I must say, my lil skunk is quite adorable, he's a little one that I take care of every week. I sure do love that boy. This is his mom's layout that she did, I think she did an awesome job.
We used the Cricut to create the title, candy corn and our little skunk. Paper was torn with the tear ruler (not sure what you call it). Really simple layout turned out great and we had a wonderful time creating them.
We will add Gloria's and my layouts at a later date, we wanted to put the pictures on ours before we posted them.

Snowman Slider Card
This weeks class was so much fun, because if you like snowmen than this was the place to be. We made this adorable Snowman slider card, when you tip the card, the snowman's head rolls to the other end of the card...it is so cute! In the window it has a little saying "Some of my best friends are flakes!" Hope you like it.

Magnolia Stamps are awesome!
So Tuesday night we made a card using Magnolia Stamps! I love that little girl. There are so many to choose from, but we had decided we wanted to do birthday cards, I was making one for my daughter who is turning 29!!!! Love you Erica, and Brenda was making one for her friend. We made the exact same card except she made her girl with black hair.
Next month we will be working on Holiday cards. So get ready and come and have fun as we try and get a jump on the Holidays.

The Great Pumpkin
This is the class that almost didn't happen.
I want to again thank Tammey for her class and I told her that I scrap lifted her idea and of course I tried to make it my own by doing some changes to it and so here's what we came up with.
I had gotten quite sick over the weekend and when Sunday came, I still wasn't prepared for the class. By Sunday evening I was in so much pain, that we almost went to the hospital. Monday morning came and I still was not better and my class was only half started and I was in so much pain. I prayed that I would feel better and not have to cancel class, and that's just what happened, we had our class!
We were small in number as some were not able to make it and some were also sick, but we had two new, wonderful ladies attend, Gloria and Jamie, and we were able to complete our layouts. It took a little longer than planned and I just noticed that I spelled Pumpkin wrong on Gloria's layout, (sorry Gloria, we can fix that). These ladies did a wonderful job and created there own little scraplift right here and so as I took there pictures I got some ideas on how to finish mine, which I did today. Thanks girls for coming and for your inspiration and just for a fun evening, hope you can come back again. If you are in the area and want to come just email me and we'd love to have you. We try to keep the class size down to about 7 or 8 so we can get the layouts done and have a good time, so come on over and let's scrap it!

Scrapping Tuesdays
Well we were small in number this week, but that's ok, we both were able to finish our project and had fun at the same time. This week we made the Christmas tree card that I took in one of my online classes, (thank you Clarice). It was just Brenda and myself, so Brenda made two cards and I will make mine later. So here's the samples of her cards. Sorry pic came out a little blurry.

My Chris Stamp!
So how do you like my stamp that I made of my son? I bought the Justrite Stamp, and created an outline of my son and now I have a stamp that I am going to use to make a layout with. I am also going to use it for some of the fundraisers that we do, it will save on a lot of ink that I use when I have to print his picture out.
